Brianna started her career in the nonprofit sector as a muralist and community organizer at the Veterans’ Alley Mural Project in San Francisco. There she helped to found the bi-annual flea market and block party to showcase local artists and provide a space for community vendors. Alongside her local projects, she has worked with deported veterans as part of the Deported Veterans’ Mural Project, engaging them in an active art-healing process through the creation of murals on the Mexico-US border fence. Brianna’s commitment to community development and elevating the voices of those least heard drives the way she engages in policy and advocacy at SOWA.
